On the 88' Series IIA... Some Ramblin bait.

ARB air locker.

Kinja'd!!!

Got to love full floating axle

Kinja'd!!!

Aren't going to break that any time soon.

Kinja'd!!!

All done!

Kinja'd!!!

Now we only have to do the front axle and this 88' will be even more of a beast off road.

I missed this thread somehow. I must ask, Y U Range Rover rear axle cap? Rangey/late III third member? Looks like if from the vent.

Not Rangey axle, Discovery 1 axle's front and back. Easier and cheaper than the disk brakes conversation.

We've got one Rangey third-member that should bolt into a Series axle case no problem when the bushing bracket's cut off. RRC third-members use the same mount depth and same bolt pattern as the Series unit, and IIRC the same spline as the late III, so it should be a ready upgrade to the Mercedes-swap we're putting in "Samson", the 109 five-door. Just need another Rangey third-member and a set of half-shafts all around.

It should work, are you replacing the half shafts? We went with the D1 axles because they have a wider track so they give better stability off road. That and the truck looks a lot more aggressive with the wheels sticking out of the wheel wells.

Also my dad is thinking about putting D1 axles in Lurch (the 109), but if he does he'd have to get the Ashcroft upgrades because he currently has salisbury axles in it. I'm still against it because... salisbury axles.

I'd be against it too. Salisbury, man.
Swapped half-shafts are what I was talking about, yes: '83 or so Siii half shafts upgrade the spline on one end.
